We Are All The Same

This is a drawing I did the other day. It is a pen drawing. When I started out, it was just the headphones. By the time I finished that part and went over it in pen and everything, I realized it needed something to fill in the rest of the while space on the paper. Since it is a drawing of headphones, I decided to write some song lyrics and make it look like music coming out of the ear piece part of the headphones. My boyfriend made me listen to a song called 'One' by Tristam & Rogue. I really liked it and felt I could tie in a meaning with my drawing by using the lyrics from it. I put a YouTube video with the song below.

I am going to talk about my thoughts on the song. While reading the comments on some videos I saw a lot of user saying 'We aren't the same...everyone is different...' and things of that nature. I agree, no one is exactly the same as someone else. However, we are all human. We have wars with each other, disagree with the actions of others and criticize against things we don't agree with. We ridicule others because of their weird little quirks and the things that make then unique. At the end of the day, though, when all is done and over with, we are all the same. I know jealousy, greed, hate and those behaviors are in our nature. I get it. Sometimes, though, I wish things could be different.

I just don't understand the point of saying 'everyone is different', and then pointing out differences, when everyone has something about them that makes them unique. I was raised to love everyone, and though that is an impossible goal sometimes, I do my best. I do see a lot of pointless hate, however. No one is better or worse than another...we are all human.

So that is my interpretation of the song lyrics, and why I included them in my drawing. Whenever I use lyrics, I try to use ones that have meaning, or words that I believe in.

So there you go! I hope you like this!

Have a wonderful day <3

When You Think About It...

Your life can change in a matter of seconds...even in the matter of one single second.

Never waste a second; spend time with the people that matter to you and be yourself.

Some Quotes I Love And Why :) Jimi Hendrix

This blog post shall focus on some of Jimi Hendrix's quotes. He has said some really amazing things, and I admire him for his music and his words. He is one of my favorite musicians :) I hope you enjoy this entry.

"When the power of love overcomes the love of power the world will know peace."
-Jimi Hendrix

Reason Why: This quote is very powerful, though only a sentence long. I love what it is saying; the world is too absorbed in things that don't matter (money, power, material things, etc.) that they are incapable of creating peace. There is so much more to living than all the small things in our lives. Though money is worth a lot, buys a lot and can give you power and fortune,  it is only a piece of paper. It can not buy you love. I know this sounds cheesy, but I truly believe that if everyone in the world (developed nations especially) took a step back, and stopped being so self-absorbed, peace would be such a reachable goal. I love peace, and even though peace is so far away from ever happening, I keep hope that the world will know peace one day.

"Music doesn't lie. If there is something to be changed in this world, then it can only happen through music."
-Jimi Hendrix

Reason Why: I love when song writers use their music to inspire others. It shows that they do not only want the career in music for themselves. Music has an influence on people. That is why it is used in so many different ways; education, religion, videos, movies, commercials, in restaurants, etc. It can easily calm someone down, make them cry or make them want to get up and dance to it. There have been multiple movements in history where music has triggered emotions, changed people's ways of thinking and helped to shape our culture. A person can even reflect what kind of music they listen to. I believe that music can help change the world. I also believe that music is something that everyone can love, because it is so diverse.

"I just hate to be in one corner. I hate to be put as only a guitar player, or either only as a songwriter, or only as a tap dancer. I like to move around."
-Jimi Hendrix

Reason Why: To me, this quote is basically saying that whether or not you have reached your goals, you should keep making them and keep on dreaming. There is no reason to isolate yourself, and your talents, in a box your entire life. If you have the skills to learn something, do it. I believe that everyone should share their God-given talents with the world, and not hide them. Just like Jimi Hendrix doesn't want just one title in life, neither do I. I want to be known as someone who stands out from everyone else, who keeps dreaming, even when all of my my dream have come true. There is no point in any one's life where they should give up.

So why did I blog about all that? It was actually an English project. I decided I would like to share it with those who read my blog. I spent a lot of time with it, so I figured it could have more attention than just my English instructor. I hope you like it.

I apologize for not being active online lately. Things are getting very busy. I hope to become active again soon.

Until then, take care :)

Art Can Never Be Defined

There is not definition that will satisfy everyone, that says what art is and what it is not. This is why I believe anyone can make art. The opinion of everyone around you should never define how good your art is.

And that is my random little thought for the day. I have just been getting a little sympathetic for those who keep going on about how they can never be an artist because they have no talent. It is sad that they can't realize that the actual talent in art is the ability to accept the talent you are give, whether it is no talent or a lot of talent.

Other than that, I haven't really worked on anything lately. I will, though :) Hopefully. Things are busy.

My goal for this blog is to include more videos. I had a lot of fun making that last one, and from the responses I receive on my e-mail, Deviant Art and the video, I think others enjoyed it ^_^

Alright :) The video I posted is a time lapse of a sunrise scene I made with oil pastels on a canvas board. The song is 'Here Comes the Sun', by The Beatles. I felt it was appropriate ;)

I didn't get to record the whole process of creating this, but I hope you like it :) I am not too experienced with oil pastels, but I love to work with them. My art teacher always described them as 'crayons on steroids'. ^_^

I think that a nice sunrise can make someone happy. I love looking out my window in the morning. They also make good painting subjects. :)

I have more videos to come!

Acrylic Painting - Wolf

Sorry about the bad photo quality ^_^ I will take a better one in the future :)

I hope you like this. I did it in one night. It still needs some itty bitty details, and the white border around the painting is going to be black. I really like how this turned out, since I didn't take very much time to do this. I had one of those sudden urges to paint, but not much time to do so.

I chose to do this because I saw a really cool painting of a crescent moon, and it made me think of a wolf howling at the moon. I used acrylic paints. I did a lot of texture techniques to this. The moon is pretty much just blobs of paint mashed together until they made the look I was going for. I crumpled up a coffee filter and pressed it on the wet paint for the sky, and then I put some white, black and dark blue on the filter and did the same thing. There is a little bit of splattering done in the sky as well. I made the grass in a way very similar to how I made the sky.

I know this isn't the -best- painting, but I hope you like it <3
